HEIRLOOM: 55 days. This 1885 heirloom is widely grown for it’s beautiful color and superior flavor. Harvest baby leaves for salads. The oak-type leaves have a purplish tinge that deepens in cool weather. Even the big leaves are tender and mild. Red Russian kale is very tasty lightly steamed in a skillet with butter.
