Pick at 8-10″ for best flavor. Bush plants are non-vining and have a semi-upright habit. Zucchini grow best in hills – make 2′ wide mounds of fertile soil/compost and put 4 plants in each. Squash plants are hurt by temps below 50F. Wait until night-time temperatures remain well above freezing to plant them outdoors.
